This TV is close ish to the QM7K range or similar, for a lot less. https://www.rtings.com/tv/tools/c...8608/74025

VRR and local dimming don't work together. It's one or the other....strange.

Per that rtings link (thanks for that) reflection handling on that panny looks dreadful... otherwise, yes, fairly close to the qm7k in specs. Sure the contrast is also worse, but in terms of local dimming numbers I doubt you could spot too much difference between 58,000:1 and 268,000:1. It's not going to look like a 5X difference anyway, that's for sure. It's impressive the local dimming precision scored a half point higher on the panny with substantially fewer zones. Algorithms matter! I think reflections and Fire OS are dealbreakers for some, but definitely not a bad TV for the money.

The Panasonic definitely has some quirks, but can be a fantastic deal for most use cases. It is also now cheaper, $718.39 as of today. Every video review where they just talked about the TV and compared it side by side with various others in its range, it seems to do just fine, even if its "weak" in numbers in some areas. I just wish it had DTX pass-through.
