No, this uses LDAC, iphones don't support this less-lossy codec, they have their own version called ALAC

I forgot to mention...you can use third-party apps that support LDAC transmission.
No adapter needed.
  1. Download and install a third-party app that supports LDAC, such as Hi-Res Audio Player or FLAC Player.
  2. Open the app and select the LDAC codec.
  3. Connect your phone to a compatible Bluetooth device.
  4. Start playing high-quality audio content using the app.

I no longer have an Amazon membership but got this yesterday for 16.06 plus tax because of the $2 off coupon at Aliexpress. I noticed aliexpress has dynamic pricing so you may want to search for it instead of using my link. Search ugreen ldac

BT is too limited to play truly lossless audio. Nearlink is the future of portable lossless wireless audio, with numerous advantages, including 6x the speed & uses 60% less energy.

Go to the comments area of Amazon and sort by "most recent". There you will see that many, many comments are negative. Buyer beware.

I'm curious why you would comment like this when it is 100% false? Work for competitor?

They exaggerated a bit, but there are plenty of common negative complaints mixed among the many positive reviews.

For example, connectivity issues, annoying automated voice, it's battery powered, can't be turned off, etc.

Although it looks like it can be charged via USB-C, so I think some people missed that.

I, too, am not sure why Gregg1 posted an egregiously false claim. That said, I was intrigued, so I paged through the reviews.
I found and read a review entitled "A Bluetooth receiver that you have to MANUALLY TURN ON EVERY TIME", which describes exactly my use case (hiding the receiver out of the way and yet being able to play music at any time without resetting or pushing buttons). As such, I'll pass. Thanks for holding people accountable.

Some folks talking about the LDAC. I wish there were liable reviews about the DAC on these devices, i.e. the chip that transforms digital into analog signals. I would think that has just as much impact as the bluetooth codec.
