Don't forget about rants regarding "mAcRoS." If the calories don't cause their knees to jerk, the (of course) artificial sweetener will.

They need 3000 cal flavor, satiation, while remaining under 1 cal per gram of protein. And no splenda or SuGaR AlCoHoL either

like the flavor of these but they tend to have small "chunks" of solids that no amount of shaking can get to fully dissolve.
That said.. ordered. thanks OP.

Is there any reason to get this over whey protein powder which is a lot cheaper per drink, other than convenience?

I've gotten other brands versions on clearance. I got it, I guess for convenience, somewhat necessity? I fly for a living, and some of my days are quite long, can't heat up my food on a plane or in an airport, and don't tend to bring milk with me to mix powder in either as some of my days are long enough my food doesn't even come close to staying frozen and I shouldn't attempt to eat it when I finally reach a hotel....I imagine milk would be even worse. So the protein drinks I had were welcome, even if they tasted awful.

I only like the vanilla flavor but they almost never put it on sale. Not trying to put more caffeine into my diet

I'll take the bait. Spent some hours researching Consumer Reports article on lead in protein drinks by looking at multiple sources. I can tell you this. ON's "Gold Standard" have been routinely tested by a reliable independent testers, for years, and the test results are "transparent". Also, some Redditors believe that since ON has brick & mortar nutrition stores, they are probably very careful about having their brand associated with contaminated dirty protein.
Other tid bits.
"Dirty protein" contaminated with with excessive heavy metals has been known about for years. Nothing new here. When consumer reports recently reported this story, it gained lots of attention.
A lot of the"dirty protein" comes from...wait for it....China.
Suspicion that is unsubstantiated: In recent years, in the US, everything from Candy bars to water is loaded with "Extra High Grams" of protein. Some of this may be contaminated with excessive "Dirty Protein".
Fact: Research indicates that China routinely falsifies labels, substitutes listed ingredients with lesser quality ingredients and mistakes "Country of Origin". For instance, instead of listing agriculture products grown in a former mining area of China, the country of origin on the label may be an EU country with strict AG rules.
Bottom Line: The risk of consuming excessive lead in ON's Gold Standard powder or shakes is very low. ON Gold Standard is clean!

I got these, and they actually don't have a chalky taste at all. Like all things related to taste, YMMv, but I don't feel like I went wrong getting 3 cases of these.
