I can personally attest to this, having had one unit's screen fail twice since April. BUT, I can't resist a great deal and there is a used "Good" at my local BB so will go check it out.

Also your warranty from ASUS will suck. 90 days and after that if you need service, BB will charge you a deductible to repair it. There is a slim chance if you contact ASUS after buying it, they might reset the warranty to a full year from date of purchase, but don't count on it.

This was a good deal at $800 open box excellent several months ago but now I wish I waited. This is a steal. Great laptop no complaints, runs Linux perfectly if that matters to you. Gets a little toasty but that's pretty normal for thin and light notebooks.

Picked up an open box "Good" today and expecting the worst, was pleasantly surprised! First, I was shocked it came in the original boxes (both outer and inner presentation box), and the charger appeared unused. The laptop itself still had the plastic film on the lid and screen. Has this even been used? I turned it on at BB before I left just to confirm it actually booted. It does. Screaming deal considering with rewards points I used, it was about $420 before tax. Now to go see how much use it's had!

Same thing 6 months ago.. Working fantastic. Was brand new. Best deal ever. I know some screen issues but if it happens I will buy another one...LOL
