Does anyone know if there are differences (outside of obviously the processor) between this model and the Intel CPU model?

Per Jarrod's Tech, you need to remove the CPU cooler to upgrade SSD so be aware if you plan to do so

looks like this version with the rtx 5080 should have 2 m.2 slots(1 unused additional) for ssd

I have this laptop, and I dig it. It does have an extra SSD slot that you can access, but it is only 2x. The Ryzen 375 runs cool, and I only notice the fans during benchmarks.

This is only true when replacing the primary SSD. There's a secondary slot that's more accessible. You should have included this in your statement. It's a bit misleading as is

There's some self cleaning fans on the Intel version and the Intel version of you configure through HPs website can be upgraded further to 5090 and OLED screen. Not much else of note beyond that

There is 2 slots. One is already under heat sink. The other one is a tight fit but free.
I myself installed a 2tb nvme on there.

Ahhhhh!!!

This is the one I have been waiting for!

It's only the best value for practical laptop that can game very well. Don't let the non-oled dissuade you. The matte ips is superior for actual physical experience. The oleds on the more expensive legions have so much glare that you can see yourself and every light fixture reflect straight into your eyes no matter what you do.
Plus with the AMD apu, this is the ONLY high end rig That will push 8 hour battery sessions for those of us with jobs. Just have to disable the 5080.
also.. anyone who cries about the hard drive being hard to replace.. let me tell you how the internet is moronic. You DO NOT have to remove the cooling chamber to access it. The primary hard drive SLIDES out. It is literally in the manual that comes with the laptop. No tools required or any nonsense from these reviewers that never actually touched the laptop (made me realize every YouTube reviewer is a scammer).
Only downside is HP service. But if you have Amex.. you are good for a while on extended warranty.

It still really sucks. I have the same laptop ( the 5070TI version), it's outrageously bad design.
If it has two slots I expect both to be accessible. I'm a lot of situations you may need to remove both SSDs before selling or donating the laptop.

From the hp owners manual, the primary ssd slide out is only on 5070/5060 gpus, not the higher ones.

Primary SSD, models with 5070 or 5060 graphics: Remove the Phillips screw (1), and then use tweezers (2) to pull the drive assembly (3) out from under the heat sink and out of the slot.
NOTE: This step is not applicable in models with 5070Ti, 5080, or 5090 graphics. If necessary, contact your HP authorized service partner.

The primary SSD cover is soldered on the thermal module only on models with 5070Ti, 5080, and 5090 graphics.
