Because this is available to everyone with free shipping. That $400 clearance in-store only was extremely YMMV and limited. There wasn't a single Sub available at that price at any of the 20+ Costco locations near me.

Sonos Sub Gen 3 is a strong add on for Sonos soundbars, bringing a noticeable boost in low end and making the system easier to set up than a separate receiver and sub. The Costco price is especially appealing because it includes free shipping and an $80 Apple or SiriusXM credit, and the .97 pricing suggests limited inventory. A $50 off $500 Costco email coupon can also work with a small filler item to clear the threshold. The main caveat is that some find the bass improvement modest for the money, and the large boxy design takes up space.

Common Questions (5)

  • The coupon works on Costco.com only and the merchandise total must reach $500 before tax and shipping. A small filler item can push the cart over the threshold, and the code is entered in the promo box at checkout; it is not valid in-warehouse or on prior purchases.

  • It can make a big difference in low-end output with a Sonos soundbar, and some setups describe it as a significant improvement. One caveat is that Arc Ultra's built-in bass can reduce the need for an external sub in some rooms.

  • Yes, this offer is nationwide online with free shipping, unlike the earlier $399 in-store clearance that was highly YMMV and limited to specific Costco locations. That broader availability is why the $499.97 price is getting attention even though it is higher than the clearance price.

    satchameseahawksseahawks

  • Yes, open-box and in-store clearance prices can be much lower, including a reported brand-new open-box unit for $300 and Costco in-store clearance around $399.97. Those deals are more limited and location-dependent, while this Costco online offer is easier to get.

  • Gen 4 has a matte finish and Wi‑Fi 6, while Gen 3 has the piano finish. Gen 3 also supports more older Sonos speakers such as Play:1, Play:3, Play:5, and Playbar, which Gen 4 reportedly does not.

Nice! I bought last month as well but early November so I just missed the 30 day price match eligibility, ugh.

Great price for a great sub! I had one already for living room and got a second for basement from B&M Costco 2 months ago on clearance for 399.97. Was YMMV and luckily my local Costco had some let. Still well worth it at this price shipped. The Apple gift card is a nice bonus also.

Edit: $399.97 in store, not $499.97

Definitely and note it's got the .97 pricing so Costco is clearing them out with probably low inventory and this will likely sell out soon.

Probably because it's not regional and works for everyone and is shipped despite being $100 more. This is still a great price. I was very happy with my $400 purchase. It's an amazing addition and the Sub 4 doesn't add much compared to the Sub 3
