Sonos Sub Gen 3 is a strong add on for Sonos soundbars, bringing a noticeable boost in low end and making the system easier to set up than a separate receiver and sub. The Costco price is especially appealing because it includes free shipping and an $80 Apple or SiriusXM credit, and the .97 pricing suggests limited inventory. A $50 off $500 Costco email coupon can also work with a small filler item to clear the threshold. The main caveat is that some find the bass improvement modest for the money, and the large boxy design takes up space.
Costco shoppers can use a $50 off $500+ email coupon to lower the effective purchase price.
Free shipping makes the $499.97 price more broadly available than prior in-store clearance deals.
The deal includes an $80 Apple gift card bonus that can further reduce the out-of-pocket cost.
Sonos Sub Gen 3 can be easier to set up than some alternative soundbar plus sub setups.
The $399.97 clearance price for Sub 3 has been reported as in-store only and highly YMMV.
Sonos Sub Gen 3 performance can feel underwhelming for buyers expecting it to "slam" based on reviews.
The Sub Gen 3 is described as a lifestyle or aesthetic product rather than a top choice for real bass performance.
The setup can be described as not "wife friendly" due to large boxy cables and space usage.

Gen 4 has matte finish vs 3 has piano finish. Gen 4 has newer WiFi 6
But Gen 3 supports a wider range of older Sonos speakers (Play:1, Play:3, Play:5, Playbar). Gen 4 does not.

But if you are interested in REAL bass performance, there are any number of much better uses of $500, folks.
Definitely more impressed with the sub over the sonos though.
