Because this is available to everyone with free shipping. That $400 clearance in-store only was extremely YMMV and limited. There wasn't a single Sub available at that price at any of the 20+ Costco locations near me.

Got excited for this but then checked my order history on Sonos.com and it was $699 MSRP back in 2020 and I got it for $490 back then with the widely available 30% coupon. They really jacked up the price over the years.

I have 2 of the Gen 4's for my Ultra Arc. Whoa. Get at least one of these if you have a Sonos Soundbar, it will make a beautiful difference in low end.....

For some context and those unaware, 2 months ago, some Costco stores had clearance priced the Sub 3 to $399. It was in-store only, and was very YMMV.

This is strictly an eye-candy WAF-driven "lifestyle" product. Perfectly fine if that's what you want.

But if you are interested in REAL bass performance, there are any number of much better uses of $500, folks.

Huge difference in arc and arc ultra. I put my old arc in the bedroom. Ultra has their new technology sub built in. I was running two Sonos subs in the main room, one near the ultra and other in rear. Ended up removing the sub by the ultra without a significant low response loss. The clarity of the ultra is pretty stunning if you are in to that sort of thing.

I got brand new arc from best buy for 400 and arc ultra for 879. Need to return one and have not opened any yet Do you think arc ultra is $479 better than arc considering gen 3 sub can be purchased for $500?
