Got this a few months back. Get ready for all the "you need a espresso grinder" comments. I have this, and a Baratza Encore (yes, not the ESP espresso version, gasp!). Encore grind set to 5, store bought Starbucks espresso beans, double shot double wall basket, 17g of gounds = sweet spot for me. Making the best espresso (i drink straight), or mixed hot/cold drinks I ever have.

It's a great little machine, but I wouldn't proudly tout that grinders are not important.

An expensive grinder paired with the Bambino will make better espresso than an expensive espresso machine with a cheap grinder.

You don't need to get a $3000 grinder, but something like a DF54 can carry you for years, if not forever.

You can also buy whole beans and have a coffee shop grind them for you on their ridiculously expensive grinders. You lose some shelf life and versatility to dial in your shots, but this is infinitely better than preground coffee.

I have the regular Encore as well, but I upgraded the burr grinder. I also tweaked it so that I can micro-adjust the grinder settings. Both are pretty easy to do by following YouTube videos. This was before the ESP came out. I have this Bambino machine and it makes nice espresso once you practice a little bit. The milk frother could be better; it takes a while for the milk to come up to temp.

Just got this machine a few days ago... my complaint right now is I don't find it hot enough... but maybe it is ... I cant decide. But I am preheating before I make my espresso... I run the steamer for three seconds... then I run my espresso and this seems to work for me.

it only reaches proper brewing temp with the PID under pressure, pouring water alone comes out around 160f.
