Always someone....
Not last gen, 2021-2022 sold ones
so if you bought in 2025 - you're not included in the recall.

Amazon blasted it out to everyone who ever bought that SKU, not just ones sold / made in the recall window.

also this is a different model# too.

INIU has recalled its BI-B41 10,000mAh power banks sold on Amazon (Aug 2021-Apr 2022) due to fire and burn risks, with specific serial numbers (starting with 000G21, 000H21, 000I21, 000L21) affected; consumers should stop using them immediately and check INIU's recall page for refunds.
How to Identify the Recalled Power Bank:
Model: INIU 10,000mAh Power Bank (Model BI-B41).
Color: Blue or Black.
Markings: Features a paw print and INIU logo.
Serial Number: Located on the back/bottom, must start with 000G21, 000H21, 000I21, or 000L21.

I had this brand before and got a recall from Amazon on the model. They gave me my money back and required it be disposed of.

How did you get your money back? I got the emails but no way to contact them back.

You generally can contact them directly via Amazon app or website. It should bring up the Amazon chatbot which allows you to send them a message directly. I typically get a reply within a couple of days. Exceptions are when the seller is no longer around, which is sometimes the case with these alphabet soup companies.

Bull. Crap. I ordered in May 2025 and the one I ordered was recalled.
But you know, it's always someone...how much is the company paying you? If it's nothing, that's even more pathetic.

Did they fix the paw thing on these? If you charge it at night in your hotel room it is like sleeping by a lighthouse. The weirdest design decision I have seen for a long time. I guess they are trying to establish a brand, but similar devices have a screen or just 5 dots for the charge. On the unit I have (22.5W?) it doesn't even lay flat, so the light comes out the sides even if you lay it face down.

The other problem I have with these units is that if it is anything above standard (say 18W) it should have a screen so you know that it is actually discharging/charging at the higher speed. You can find out on your device, but it should say on the battery pack. When you plug it in to the wall you have no idea if it has done the high-speed handshake for fast charging until the paws light up faster.

For $10, I shouldn't really complain. The Baseus picogo 45W is a lot more functional because of the lack of Times Square lights and screen. If you can get that for $20, I would do that.

They only have 1 listed recall and it's not from 2025...

INIU has issued a voluntary recall for approximately 210,000 units of its 10,000mAh portable power bank (Model BI-B41) sold exclusively on Amazon USA between August 2021 and April 2022 due to a fire and burn hazard caused by a defective lithium-ion battery cell. The recall affects only units with serial numbers "000G21", "000H21", "000I21", and "000L21". The company, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), reported 15 incidents of overheating, including 11 fires that resulted in three minor burn injuries and an estimated $380,000 to $400,000 in property damage.
Recall Scope: The recall is limited to the INIU 10,000mAh 5V/3A Power Bank (Model BI-B41) in black or blue cases with a paw-print LED light on the front.
Affected Units: Only power banks with serial numbers "000G21", "000H21", "000I21", and "000L21" are included; all other INIU models and batches are unaffected.
Consumer Action: Consumers should stop using the recalled power banks immediately, verify the serial number, and register for a full refund or Amazon gift card via INIU's official recall page.

I purchased two units of the older version and have had them for less than a year.

A few weeks ago, Amazon emailed me instructing me to stop using them due to fire risks. The product has been recalled, but that's the extent of it—no replacement, no refund. They simply tell you to stop using the product.

It feels like a complete waste of money. I expected better from INIU, but they clearly don't care. There's no way to contact them: all emails are no-reply, and the product listing has been removed entirely.

Just a warning—this could happen to this battery as well.

I fixed mine by turning the paw print face down instead of face up. Yours might be missing that feature or something not sure if it's model dependent.

Everyone got that same email. Check your serial numbers.

That was my point. I ordered in 2024 and 2025... neither had serial numbers included in the recall but I still got the email.

If you somehow got older serial numbers from 2022 then obviously stop using it.

YMMV.

Otherwise I've had nothing but good experiences with INIU battery packs with holding charge, not overheating, and recharging quickly.

It is called having common sense and actually reading the recall description before having a panic attack. I highly doubt you have a matching serial number that is part of the recall, considering you purchased it in 2025. Just because you received an email due to a matching listing does not guarantee that your item is being recalled.
