Get the Casio A168 instead of the A158. It is the same price (~$30) on Amazon. The electro luminescence is much better lighting and it's the same price.
I paid $10 for mine 10 years ago and only recently had to replace the battery.

That being said, the Tissot is more of a statement.

What statement would that be - that I am insecure enough to spend $200 for a $10 watch because of the brand name slapped on it?

Idk, I too wouldn't want to pay $200 for it, but I wouldn't yuck someone else's yum if they did. I would pay $50-80 for it if you caught me in a good mood. For $200, it should have an advanced feature like a solar rechargeable battery and maybe alarm or synchronize to an atomic clock type functionality.
