If you end up buying it, I'd recommend waiting on the expansion pass until it's heavily discounted. The three DLCs included aren't particularly strong overall. If I had to pick a standout, Legacy of the Forge is the best of the bunch since it gives you a convenient one-stop hub once you finish its questline.
Both games definitely have a slower pace, which I think tends to lend itself to a smaller map rather than a huge one. KCD2 just had too much traveling around with dead space and too many quests that force you to travel all around the map instead of localizing them. I felt like nature and hunting weren't as utilized this time around, so you just end up fast traveling everywhere once you discover places. IDK, some people adore KCD2, but I played KCD1 twice with full hardcore on the 2nd time around. I just don't have that same drive to do it again for KCD2.
