You don't need the "transceiver" to fly the Neo 2 using your phone but if one day you want to use one of the remotes and the googles, you need to buy that those equipments PLUS you will need one small piece called a "transceiver" that attaches to the back of the Neo 2 and is sold separately if you buy this package (other more expensive Neo2 packages include the transceiver inside the box).
The transceiver is not easy to find and when you do manage to find an authentic one (not a fake), they're pretty expensive avg $75.

That's the problem with these drones from Amazon, you never know for sure when they will ship. Not only the ones from the sellers but also the ones shipped from Amazon. Hit or miss. I don't think the shipments are trying to hit the Dec 23 because it's likely they can still ship after that date. I have an order placed on Dec 6 that tells me I should expect it on Feb 1.
Mine have delivered promptly/met the promised delivery windows.

I have purchased one of these transceivers on AliExpress. It still hasn't shipped yet. Am I likely to receive a fake? Are there documented cases already of people receiving a fake one of these? Is it completely useless if so?
I just got my Neo 2 from eBay for $585 using the Klarma50 special. Ordered Friday 12-12-25 morning and received today 12-17-25! Less than 4 business days, one day ahead of estimated delivery date!
This thing is awesome for portability.. you dont even need your phone to have it take off and do a bunch of things right out of your pocket! Everything is excellent in my opinion except.. cant deal with wind or go far. You still can control it with phone manually as well and a controller for farther distance.
I was surprised these were available since DJI did not launch it in the US. Warranty support for that reason could be an issue, but I'm taking a risk since the price is pretty much MSRP and not absurdly marked up. Amazon will DEFINITELY refund you if you're charged and don't get your purchase, but as others mention you don't get charged unless it actually ships (and it is shipped by Amazon).
Do i need a remote for this or can i fly it with my phone?
You dont need a remote or phone..it has a button to.alter the shooting modes..u will need your phone to modify the settings of each modes... distance is limited with phone control. ...with the remote. It allows u to go 120m up...

Postban? Your current DJI gear still works, but support, parts, and firmware updates requiring FCC approval become difficult
