To each their own, but this seems like the last smart light product you would want to cheap out on considering the biggest cost or time sink is hanging them.

I'm all for saving money, but hanging these (the right way,) makes it worth spending a little bit more on. If your install is easy enough, maybe worth giving these a shot though

Luckily, I have a single-story ranch. I do need to hang only 70 feet of lights like this. Is this kit capable of being cut? Hanging only 50 feet will look a little silly and having a 30 feet coiled up somewhere isn't practical.

As others have said, I would avoid cheaping out on something like this. Prices have come down a lot the past couple years, with options from Enbrighten (GE is the parent company) dipping well below $200. Costco had the 100ft Enbrighten set for $140 on black friday, amazing deal. I got a set and have been extremely happy with it. The build quality is great, install was easy, app works very will, and best of all they have a lifetime warranty through Enbrighten.

Just my 2 cents!

Definitely wouldn't cheap out on something like this for the house but cheap enough for other uses. I've had the Govees on my house for a while and hanging was a hassle (needed to rent a tall ladder from Home Depot), but they've been great. I did get a no-name cheap set (diff brand but similar to these) this year though and hung them along my fence. Easy enough to get rid of when they fail but pleasantly surprised with them as long as I get even 1 xmas season out of them.

Most people buying these will just do a half ass job putting them up.
Even the Govee ones, people post their "displays" and they look like crap.
(there are exceptions).

Agree. It's best to test out and decide how far you want the light from the wall to control the spread based on what you're looking for. I then made a template with some thick cardboard so it was easy to place at the same distance from the siding. I don't remember exactly but I think I went with 3.5" away.

Do they say anywhere how many lights there are per string or what the spacing is?

Sale price went up to $70. After 30% discount it's around $50 now.

If I didn't already have lights up, I'd be considering these. Doesn't look like they take much more effort than regular lights. And 150 feet for $28 is a decent price for traditional non-RGB lights. Quality level is probably low, but so are all regular holiday lights.

Regarding placement - put them under the eave facing towards the house - you'll never see the lights. If they're not placed in a perfectly straight line, likely no one will notice because they only see the light that is projected on the house and minor height differences will be hard to spot.
