Define long time? I gave $699 for mine about 5 months ago. Its been solid on my end, all brands have lemons they all likely source parts from the same places.

I've used many GPUs and never had one go defective. That being said, asrock rma process is atrocious. 3-4 weeks for turnaround, sometimes feels like no one's even working over there. All other brands are WAY better

So NewEgg's decided to price it $50 less than what I purchased mine for this past June.

He's lying. I literally bought mine from NewEgg in June at $670 and it would've been priced at $700 if it wasn't open box.

That's what I was afraid of after I purchased my card.

It has been this price for around a month pretty much everywhere (Microcenter, Amazon, Newegg, etc.)
The 9070 XT Steel Legend is fairly shitty card pretending to be a "mid-tier" option. Only thing they kinda did right was using Honeywell PTM 7950.
  • Low Boost Clock max of 2970MHz (same as the SFF Reaper and other base models.)
  • Low quality plastic fan shroud.
  • No dual bios.
  • Across the board bad results testing gpu temp, vram temps, vrm temps, with paricularly bad issues with hotspot temps.
Just buy an acutal mid-tier 9070 XT like the $630 Powercolor Hellhound.

I've been running this card for months with low temps and pretty quiet while playing Cyberpunk on 1440p ultra-wide at High/Ultra settings and ray tracing...IDK what else you'd want for this price?

Don't most if not all RMAs go through the retailer?

I was referring to RMA when you're outside the return policy. Most return policies are 30 days so if your GPU dies after that, you have to contact the manufacturer for RMA under their warranty.

I've done many RMAs with all the major companies as I build PCs for a living, AsRock has been the worst. By far. I still buy their products though. Their 9070s were always reasonably priced and their white model looks great. I would definitely keep buying them as it's quite rare for a computer part to go bad if it works for the first 30 days.

Anyone running 9070XT or 9070 Remember to undervolt and tune your GPU. You'll get more performance and lower power usage/heat tremendously on these cards.

I got the Challenger a few days ago.
It's not "busted", but I have had instances of severe coil whine. I would probably go back with another brand, or the Asus main line. I may still do it since I'm still in the window.

This has been the November/BF price. Since Ramageddon happened, the retailers probably are holding off the price increases until the new year for GPUs.

If anyone is upgrading, I would not wait.

Gotcha, wasn't aware since I've only built 1 PC and that was 14 years ago. Thankfully everything worked.
