You have to go to the store. I didn't confirm $500, but was able to do 2 $100 increments yesterday. Paid $180 in-store. I think today is the last day for this promotion.

The purple $100 gift cards rang up full price for me in store so we bought several of the red $50 cards at $45. I don't know if color makes a difference or if it was just my store. Also, the in-store signage has the discount ending today if you are on the fence.

I did some checking. Although the gift card TOS on their gift card website [disneygiftcard.com] didn't state anything about using it to buy tickets, I went through the checkout process for the CA 3-day pass and found in the payment screen that it will accept a Disney Gift Card.
