There's a kit on Kickstarter to make it functional. Costs more than the Lego set.

I believe retail price (at most retailers) is $59.99. Sam's has had it for $49 (see Frontpage SD listing from September). So this is a drop from what they've had it.

The amount of posts in this thread by people who haven't matured to a level to understand why some people like things they don't is nauseating. Thanks OP! I had been considering buying this at full price and now it's a no brainer.

Did they increased the price? and now regular price is on "sale"? I think I've seen them on Costco and Walmart for that price but that was the regular price that was like 2-3 months ago.

Both the Sam's Clubs and Costcos by me ran out of stock soon after they first arrived at the $49 price.

Because Lego has shifted focus to adults, especially Zen-X and Gen-Z, as their bread and butter- quite successfully I might add. It's not kids clamoring for old school gamer sets, Goonies and Back to the Future sets. Then there are the art and botanicals. And for the well off- $600 Eiffel Tower and Titanic sets.

1) Because of stranger things and other shows, 80s nostalgia is huge right now.

2) Its still a fun lego

3) Its actually well executed and looks neat to display with other legos you've built.

That said, I paid $60 from amazon for my nephew, not a Sams Club member or I'd exchange, dang!

It's not individual, but prices are by location. A lot of locations are still $49. There are a select few that are $41 in SoCAL.
