just know that Acer doesn't cover burn in as a part of their warranty.

Most major monitor brands cover burn in for 2-3 years, TV brands don't usually unless they are the premium models.

How does this compare to the LG 45GX900A-B (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FDC38XGQ)?

I have had this monitor for about a year now. Very good for gaming. I was THIS close to buying the Corsair Xeneon Flex 45" but I dragged my feet and missed all the deals so this was a solid runner-up. Cheaper than the equivalent LG model available at the time. It's not the brightest but it's sufficient for my needs. USB-C/KVM connectivity is nice but i haven't messed with it that much. Build quality is very good. I'd take an LG if $ was no object but this is a steal of a price IMO (I paid around $850 or so for my X45 in 2024).

I assume the LG you're referring to is the LG 45GX900A-B, right? It's $799 right now at Amazon and with $40 shipping from B&H, that makes it only about $160 more than this Acer one.

I don't think you need HDMI 2.1 for this resolution / 240hz

I snagged the Acer X39 a month ago from a local BB. The PPI is a little low but purchased merely for gaming and the monitor has blown me away. I do dislike having to manually run the pixel refresh and wish this was automatic like other OLED monitors. Confirmed with Acer tech that this has to be done manually. Not a deal breaker as the visuals are simply stunning! Having this in a 45" screen would be impressive.

You should be able to use this on an MBP, no prob, all Macbooks support at minimum, one external screen at a 4k or 8k res depending on the age and model of the MBP. If you have other monitors already and want to add this, then you need a DisplayLink docking station (or similar) to get more video outputs. Most of those DL docks support MULTIPLE 4k monitors.

Actually, you do. HDMI 2.0 only runs 1080p at 240hz. You'll need DP to get the most out of this one.

B&h is using some really questionable descriptions for this, calling it Dual QHD when that is 5120x1440 (32:9) while this is 3440x1440 (21:9).
