Love Nintendo but they deserve the low sales because of how much they decided to charge for these Switch 2 games. They need to lower it back down to previous levels.

First discount I've seen on the base model that didn't involve gift cards, all the others were for the Mario Kart bundle.

Might become more common. Reports yesterday were that this was the worst November for video game hardware sales in the US in 20 years by dollars spent, and the worst in 30 years by units sold.

They had to come up eventually. Games used to cost $50 20-30 years ago and look how much inflation has happened since then and especially how much game development costs have gone up. One guy used to make a game by himself, now they're like Hollywood studio productions. Look how many people are in the credits for any Mario game these days.

Yeah. People seem real ignorant of this, and how it kills the market to where only corporate producers and people in garages taking 8 years survive

Yeah I remember buying EA sports games in high school for either 50 or 60 bucks. I'm in my late 40s now.... People think it should still be the same price, it just doesn't make sense. Also a lot of the games now give like 50 - 100+ hours of playtime. Way more than it used to be. I could also buy tacos at Taco Bell for 89 cents back then and gas was about that much for a gallon. That's just how it works unfortunately.

People would be shocked what video games cost in the 90s if you adjusted for inflation. They were way higher in real terms.

Except wages were better to combat inflation. Nowadays it just not any good

That's how much I paid for switch 2 w/ Mario Kart Bundle at Target with Target circle discount when it was first released. I even got some credit from target for not delivering by release date. The only downside was that they didn't pack console well and the box was slightly dented.
