I'd rather pay $20 more for 2 years Apple Care with Costco purchase a few days ago.

Target is always slow on the competitive uptake. How many sales did they loose, how many returns did they take in because every other store was $199 a week before them. But still a good deal with Red Card or if you have a 10% off GC left.

Costco is $219 which includes AppleCare+. That cost $29 with target deal. So Costco still better if you want AppleCare+

Honestly the current AirPod models are quite reliable. I've owned every generation of the Pros and the first 3 of the regular. I had to do multiple warranty exchanges with the regular OG and 2s and the OG Pros. But no issues with any of the superceding models.

But AC+ also covers accidental damage. E.g. washing machine, dropped in a puddle, stepped on, ran over, etc.

Any credit card offers at Target to make it sweeter? I know Chase freedom flex has 5% thru PayPal, anything better?

Yeah this is very accurate. I had one of the original Pros that had the sound issues and Apple even replaced it under the warranty after 3 years. Otherwise they have been very reliable and Apple warranty policies are very generous

The real deal was buying gift cards a few weeks ago at 10% off (14.5% using Paypal) and buying at $219 on BF knowing that they would price adjust until Christmas if and when the price went lower. Price matched today and got $20 refunded. Many of us also had a rewards offer in our accounts getting $10 Rewards for every $100 spent, hence getting $20 in rewards.

Right, but I've never damaged my AirPods. When I done listening they immediately go back in the charge case. Also they are water resistant enough to endure a dip in a puddle or even a downpour. I'm not poo-pooing AC for AirPods , I just find the $20 more useful in my wallet than Apple's.
The closest I've come to disaster is when one bud dropped into the snow after lifting my hoodie. But I found it by triggering Find My.

I wish I could say the same lol. I've had to have AirPods replaced twice under AC+, but only one of those was for damage. Mine went through the wash with my jacket once, then I had another pair replaced for very poor battery life after about 18 months. $29 well spent in my case.

Thanks for the heads up on that. Been burned too many times to not have apple care on air pods.
