if you played the first, it's definitely more Hades. There's a slightly stronger focus on deliberate gameplay instead of Zag dashing and smashing everything. Your cast is replaced with a circle that roots enemies, and your attack, special, and cast moves now all have a charge up that uses mana. Some new boons, some old. If you liked the first, you'll like this, but don't expect anything mind-blowing.

Not sure if you meant never finished the full storyline of the first, or never beat the final boss. But beating the boss the first time is maybe 10% of the storyline, and it actually becomes an incredible story (and much more enjoyable gameplay) on subsequent runs as your character becomes more powerful. Highly recommend a few play throughs if you have the time!

Anyone know if the switch 1 version have a free upgrade to switch 2? Haven't seen how that's working and am trying not to lock into switch 1 games.

I never even bet the final boss, but I'll def have to revisit it now.

For Hades 2 yeah free upgrade (see link, click "upgrade pack" and it's $0). Most first party Nintendo games though the upgrade is $10-20.

First time beating the boss takes 5 hours. Finishing the game takes 500 hours.

I finished this games and was really good. Just beware that is a rogue game and you will be playing the sames levels 100+ times.
