I don't get the chore simulator games. I guess they may have value in the future as a historical archive when robots take over about what it was like to do chores as a human, but I don't see the appeal today

This one is more hobby than chore, but even the ones that are actual chores (house flipping/power washing) they're really just "that feeling of accomplishing something" simulators. The rewarding feeling might be about 10% of the feeling you'd get from doing it in real life but then it's also about 0.1% of the effort as well.

I think power washing is just a game that's calming.

One of the top reviews on Steam:

"This should be renamed to Carpal Tunnel Simulator.
Not worth the $0.00 I spent on it"

It would be easy to be dismissive of any genre of games.

I don't get murder simulator games
I don't get "pretending to play sports" games
I don't get "driving a car" games

I'm not defending this particular game, but a lot of people find these kinds of games calming. Plus, at the end of the day, they are still GAMES. They have elements in them that are designed to be fun.

This game has a 58% on Steam. Free doesn't always mean it's a good deal...

Stop complaining about a free game. Ether pick it up or move on. At a minimum, a "bad game" can be amusing to play when you want to play something different and have something just to laugh about. I pick up almost every free game I see, doesn't mean I have to play it. But, it always gives me an option to play something different I might not normally play.
