I bought two of these months ago and both are working great with HDMI, full gigabit Ethernet, and all USB-A ports filled (keyboard, mouse, headphone transmitter). Tested with 4k 120 Hz (but only one time, daily use is 4k60), Surprisingly good build quality that feels like metal. Considering buying another just as a general purpose useful USB-C dock

Can the Ally take 100w or not? does anyone know? It's hard to find a rpecise answer. Seemingly no one asked what i need to know... I wanna be able to hit 30W turbo AND charge at 65w max rate as i would if the ally was off instead of running.

I'll take a stab : likely not.
A device can only accept so much power. Most devices will recharge much more quickly when they are off or aren't being used.
You can test this though : get either a cable or a charger that displays current wattage, and it will tell you. Just make sure both the charger and the cable are able to support 100W

I've never gotten my OG Z1E Ally to pull more than 65 on a 100w charger. Internet seems to say it depends on the charger, which is not super helpful.

That's exactly why i was asking, because i wanted to do that, but i don't want to waste money. If all I can get is 65W, i'm happy with the original charger. Like you said, devices will only take what they can take. My thought came because i saw tehre's a 100w dock for the Ally that is suggested to be used to power external devices with the extra 35w, right? But it hought... what if i don't have any extra? Do i get more juice?
