I see a coupon (via checkbox) that lowers the price to $9.15.

I saw that as well, but it was only on one of my accounts. At the risk of getting flamed, I left it out of the OP

This glove will not hold up to any serious play. Maybe a first glove to see if your kid likes the sport but you'll quickly need to replace it with something with higher quality leather

The way to handle that is to say "YMMV on the coupon, as it seems to be targeted."

Yes, that is absolutely the logical way and I have done that before. Some people are angry though and they downvote deals that they are unable to get even with YMMV. I felt $12.20 was a good deal without needing a coupon, so I chose to post it that way.

proof of your claim? The reviews on it are solid. Doubt you even play.

Enjoy your t-ball glove. Not sure what you read but the summary on Amazon says this which confirms my warning on this glove:
"Customers say
Customers find the baseball glove well-made and comfortable, offering great value for money. The leather quality receives mixed feedback - while some praise the quality feeling leather, others note it's mostly not leather. Customers disagree on the sizing, with some finding it suitable for kids while others say it's too small at 10 inches long. Durability is also mixed, with some reporting it holds up well while others say it started falling apart and breaking."
Now look at the reviews with images and you can see how easily the "leather" (aka plastic) cracks and tears.

I'd recommend a Rawlings Select Pro Lite as a starter glove over this.

lol Amazon. It's not plastic, it's PIGSKIN LEATHER. It's 11" glove and not a 10" glove like you reference. Go take a Midol.

You're the one that brought up "solid reviews". But now you don't trust the reviews on Amazon when I bring them up?
From Franklin's own site it says it's PU leather. Which is fake plastic leather. If fake pigskin is so good why does every quality glove use real cow leather?
Look at the images on Amazon and Franklin's own site. Amazon is full of gloves that are ripped or cracking. The only images people are posting on Franklin are of brand new gloves with out a sign of wear or use. And most still have the labels on. (Fake reviews).
Again, enjoy your fake leather tball glove for a few months before needing a new one. If you can afford a little more get the one I mentioned above or shoot for a Wilson a1000. But since you can only afford the $15 glove I guess it'll have to do. I wish you the best of luck with it.

  • DURABLE PU SHELL: This glove is designed with a durable PU layer to preserve the leather against dirt, moisture, and other damage
The PU is a coating over the leather. Info from Franklin's website. Regarding the Wilson glove, I played high school and college ball with the Wilson A2000 back in the day. Outstanding glove.

Yes and the real leather glove you had then is probably still useable if you took care of it because it is real leather. This fake one will last a kid a year and need to be replaced. This is a toy glove. If your kid likes baseball or softball get them something better. An a2000 for a kid is bad investment. It'll be too hard to break in and they might lose it or leave it outside. But great for a high schooler. It'll last them for years. Good luck with your toy fake leather tball glove, happy holidays.
