This 48 inch LG B5 OLED stands out as a strong gaming and bedroom or desk display, with 120 hertz support, four HDMI 2.1 ports, Dolby Vision, and clear text for PC use. The OLED picture gets praised for its big jump in image quality, and the set is described as bright enough for dark rooms with excellent response time and no burn in concerns. Bright living rooms are the main weak spot, since brightness and reflection handling trail Samsung's S90F. Promo codes are limited, though the price has already dipped to about $500 and open box units have shown up near $450.

  • Shoppers prioritizing picture quality over brightness, because the OLED image is a huge upgrade and Dolby Vision content looks strong.

  • Console players who want a responsive OLED for fast games, because response time is perfect and the panel works well with Xbox and PlayStation at 120Hz.

  • PC gamers using a 48-inch screen as a desk replacement, because 4K text stays clear, 120Hz HDMI 2.1 ports support consoles, and dark-room brightness is sufficient.

  • Bedroom viewers with blinds or drapes, because the panel handles controlled light well and includes Dolby Vision for streaming and discs.

  • Bright living rooms with lots of reflections, because the panel is noticeably dimmer than a Samsung and handles glare less well.

  • Shoppers expecting to use a Best Buy promo code, because this TV is not eligible for that coupon.

  • Main TV buyers who want a large living-room centerpiece, because the 48-inch size works better as a bedroom or desk display.

I bought mine for $500.00. Set it up as a pc dispay so I can play the new version of Nolvus Awakening modpack of The Elder Scrolls Skyrim and other games. If you do a combination of trickery with both tv settings and graphics settings in the adrenaline software my 7900xtx has this really looking good. I've got the full 444 rgb setting. Gamer vivid applie in adrenaline. In the tv I've got dolby vision on and in windows I've got the HDR enabled. It looks fantastic.

Pretty solid if you need a 48". It was similar to the deal on my B4 I got last year around this time and I love it. Not the best deal, but if you need a smaller TV and play games, good choice here.

Really glad the OLEDs are coming down to more affordable rates. Huge difference in image quality, and LG TVs have always treated me well.

It's been as low as $500 this year. I bet by this time this year you will see a few $400 ones on sale. Somehow TVs are the one thing that manage to get cheaper and cheaper.
Because many people watch stuff on their pcs, phones and tablets as well. Good for us consumers though, we get more affordable tvs. 📺

Good price. I wish I bit when it was $520 a month or so ago.
I got mine at that price over the holiday season. Do not regret this purchase. Agonized over this vs a C4 or something but I'm very happy with this. Still a good price if you pull the trigger.

Is burn-in still a worry for OLEDs?

Arguably one of the best gaming monitors you could purchase for the price. We have one for a gaming PC and Xbox. No burn in and response time is perfect.

I found this to be an excellent choice for gaming. You can sit close to it without eye strain. You have all 4 hdmi ports 2.1 at 120hz capable. 120hz itself is plenty. Xbox series X and PS5 Pro support that. On pc 4k is hard enough to get great fps with everything cranked to 11. This has dolby vision and hdr is actually decent hdr. Not sure what the ppi count is but this is really good for text. My windows scaling is set to 150%. Icons and text are so easy to read clearly. As a main display i would not be happy. As a bedroom or desk replacement this is hands down a perfect choice. 7900xtx hits this 120hz. For older titles it probably could stand to have a higher 144 or 165hz. For dark rooms this is plenty bright. This has made me rethink my 75" Hisense U7G. It's an older tv but still works just fine. It's my main living room tv. Open box excellent deal for $1270.00 is tempting. This 48" is really nice though as pc monitor replacement. All the gamer centric features that are baked into these are the same across the c and g series. At this price it is the best deal I can confidently get a really good OLED from one of if not the best TV brands out there.
