Laugh all you want:

10" is about the sweet spot for these for most people. 8 in is too small to do much in besides maybe fry two or three eggs maximum. 12 in is huge and heavy and you'll never find the right place to store it unless you cook pretty regularly

FYI - loop handles tend to work better on your grill. Those long handles just seem to consume too much grill space.
