Really nice deals, lowest prices these have ever been AFAIK. And this is probably the last batch of M4 Pros available in retail before M5 models take over.

Unless you really need 120Hz display support via the Thunderbolt port, I'd recommend the M4. I realize there is more RAM (12GB vs. 8GB in M4), but I haven't seen any side-by-side comparisons that show any meaningful performance differences. iPadOS has always been great with RAM, there are iPads running iPadOS26 today that only have 3GB of RAM.

Especially if you need (or might need) 5G connectivity, the ~$400 savings over M5 is pretty substantial IMO. Save that $400 toward a new M7 iPad in a few years ha.

On the 256/512, it goes from 8GB on M4 to 12GB on M5.
for 1TB/2TB, both M4 and M5 have 16GB.

Is it just me or is this product basically a joke at these ridiculous prices for a general use tablet.

I'm trying to understand why a typical person would spend this much for a mostly web browsing device

I also am curious. I believe the pros have some productivity value to them for certain job sectors? To me, these prices should reflect an ability to mimic a laptop, or at the very least a Chromebook.

I have 11" iPad Pro 4th gen with M2. I use it for YouTube. Any reason I should upgrade?
No. Keep using it as long as youtube is usable. Older tablets stopped being usable with youtube because of improvements with the video encoding that the older hardware couldn't handle.

That's all pretty mature now, so I imagine your M2 will play youtube just fine for the next 10 years at least.

Was too slow on the $800 13 inch 256gb and didn't nab one anyone know if that price is likely to come back at some point in the next weeks, or are the m4 ipads done once they clear out old stock?

Dang, if only I had a costco membership and didn't have to ask my mom to buy on my behalf haha. Thanks!

400$ diff on 512 gb model for 4gb extra ram and the performance diff you would never realize is insane. If you need performance you would already be looking at the 1tb/2tb models otherwise save your 400$ and get this deal.

been rocking the 11" M1 for like 4 years or whenever it came out. Highly highly recommend you get the 13" if possible. The new Magic Keyboard is stellar. I see other people use theirs, and it's truly a laptop replacement at 13". 11" wouldn't be able to do it. I got cellular in mine but have never used it.

The Pro is nice for the 3D camera. I used to use it all the time for doing take-off at jobsites at work. It's nice in theory but it takes a long time.

I'd just snag the M3 Air, save the $400 and put that toward an eventual M6 or M7 Pro upgrade in the future.

I have an M3 Air in addition to M4 iPad Pro. Different tools for different jobs...
