I live on the Hilo side of the Big Island and it has been a dry year, so come on out and enjoy the sun. $310 is cheaper than I've ever spent flying to CA. Hawaiian Airlines isn't the same after Alaska bought them, but still better than Southwest.

Well, no direct flight. Connections are from 8-16 hours. That's over a day of flying even from CA. If you're from the East Coast, 2 whopping days to get there. By the time you get there, you're so exhausted you just want to go back home.

southwest announced yesterday that they were adding nonstop san diego - hilo flights but those prices are very high.
