My landlord in Brooklyn shoved glue traps for rats under our door one day after we bitched about mice, and idk if I'd want to deal with a big angry rat glued to one of those. I agree for mice glue traps are much better in terms of actually catching them, but I've had mice get only one or 2 feet stuck and run around with the glue board stuck to their back end. Rat poison makes them dehydrated so they go away to find water and die somewhere else. What do you do with the rat stuck to the glue board - drop a cinder block on it? Also, once I had a glue trap in a pile of scrap wood in my garage and a chipmunk got its back end stuck on it, it came outside dragging the glue trap around in a circle, in a panic, as my kids were coming outside - they insisted I had to set him free, so I got a can pf cooking spray and chased him around in his little circle of panic spraying PAM on his back end, it worked and he got away free. So, if you get something stuck n the glue trap you don't want stuck in it, cooking oil spray works.

The mouse version of these suck, compared to the old school ones. You need to tie the trap to something or the mouse will drag it away. It's not an instant death. It's a little better if you remove the red plastic sleeve from the wire, but still need to tie it to something. My advice is stick to the original wood ones.
THANKS!!! I was just looking into these. I was just about to buy the TRATPER Rat traps for $11 each. This is much better deal. Got my friend to order 4 too for me. Replacing my all my shop traps with these! Awesome find seriously appreciate this post. Funny how excited I get about killing these things and this looks like a proper weapon to battle them with. It is a battle I have been losing haha

Thanks for the advice. I just figured they were getting hauled off by the snakes or cats or barn owls etc. The original wood ones I have keep disappearing. I find them consistantly 25-50 yards outside the barn.

I hope but you're not being sloppy and inconsiderate leaving them out in the open where owls and cats are getting the trap slamming down on them and taking off with the trap on them. Please be considerate of other animals. Be discreet with these traps. Just like with rat poison, you have to think of the other good animals. It's all about education and common Sense Thank you

Seen a guy selling this trap that hooks to a shop vac. Peanut butter on a sensor triggers a ten second turning on of the shop vac sucking up the mouse or rat. Also seen some battery style and air canister style traps that just crush them when they poke their head up to the bait.
