Turn based. Probably not. They love to mash buttons.

Speak for yourself my nephew is obsessed with Pokémon and loves the turn based battles. Regardless turn based would teach them patience and help practice problem solving skills through the tactical combat

I mean, I was 6 years old when I started playing Pokémon Blue. I think a lot of kids start playing Pokémon around that age.

This is not that kind of turn-based. It's a tactics game. It takes more strategy.
But regardless, their comment about mashing buttons wouldn't work for an turn-based RPG either.

I love these games. Like others have said though it's turn based strategy. Not like Pokemon or even old Final Fantasy games. Unless you're talking about tactics.

Positions, high ground, cover, all make a difference. While younger kids can play it just fine, they will not be able to process advanced tactics to be successful. Watch a video of it before buying.

Now if you're an adult and want a pretty low stress game and like strategy. Buy it immediately.

The DLC is $3 right now on Nintendo's E Shop. The gold edition with all DLC included is $9 currently.
