If you have a small garage I can see this being useful but a 2 car garage would be too big for this thing to be really effective IMO

Its not permanently attached to the wall, you can carry it around like any briefcase vacuum.
I use one in my workshop and the hose crosses the 14' width while mounted without pulling much on the hose.
