A lot of people still think ARM isn't very compatible, but as a daily Windows ARM user, compatibility is surprisingly good these days. I highly recommend giving ARM a try - my switch from x64 to ARM was a huge improvement (I can't speak to gaming experience though). This is useful for checking compatibility: https://www.worksonwoa.com/en/

Depends what you need to do I'm planning to use it for YouTube, surfing the internet and word documents

I was so bummed I missed yesterday's Snapdragon X Elite deal but this one has double the ram and more storage for $100 more but with the Snapdragon X Plus instead which I've read is plenty for what I use it for. This one is the better deal in my opinion if you can swing the extra $100. Just wish it came in the blue too instead of only black.
For anyone interested in ARM for Windows it's excellent if your primary use is surfing the web, emails, and content consumption. Plenty of speed and battery life is great.

Grabbed this last week for $999. Just got the price match to $799 through the order page. Thanks, OP!

Absolutely not, with Intel Lunar Lake launch, I see ARM being forcing out of the way. Unless all you do is web, youtube netflix. Then you can get a used Intel Gen 8 on eBay for $200

Underlying question - do you trust Microsoft to support arm in a few years or five years? They abandon products quickly without recourse. Twice abandoned windows phones that cost as much as iPhone pros, stripping of consumer features from windows over the last decades tells me you are not going to be important to them. Plus they are now moving towards your laptop not working well without a 365 subscription. So make your own decision.

I had the first gen Surface and it was using a ARM processor and cannot run any legacy x86 programs.
Can this one run old window programs ?

Any feedback on graphic card and processor. Is it ideal for graphic/web/motion design work?

Yes. The translation software is called Prism. Should run every X86 program, but gaming will either not work or be impacted. But I don't think anyone who is considering this type of laptop is planning on AAA gaming on one of these.
