RAM worth $300+
SSD 150+

CPU: 250-300

GPU: 300+ (single fan is rare too)

so that $1050 just for those. Then you get the rest, chassis, psu, etc. Its a reasonable price to be sure

Poor mans Mac Studio?
Or you want to do a lot of other stuffs like using it as a AI wirkstation (It can fit Nvidia RTX Workstation cards like RTX 2000/4000 ada and Blackwell generation cards with 20GB of video memory), Homelab server, runing Linux etc. which you can't do with Mac Studio. You can expand storage, Ram and even replace the CPU which you can't do with Mac Studio.

64GB Ram worths around $900 to $1000 now days. So, approximately $600 for everything else which includes a $300 GPU as well.

Got 1. This was a very good deal when combined with AmEx 15% cb on business card (max $100), 5% off on wife's teachers discount and $50 back in Lenovo rewards.

OP, the max memory supported by this is 64GB (not 96GB as posted)
Based on the spec sheet https://psref.lenovo.com/syspool/...2_Spec.pdf

Read it again. That is what Lenovo is offering with and that they mentionedin every Psref spec. Clearly says:
Notes: [1] The max memory is based on the test results with current Lenovo® memory offerings.

Are you sure you can replace the CPU? If a new intel cpu comes out, can I replace it with a new CPU?
