I use a 20# vest for almost everything from pullups to hiking, it's a terrific way to make things harder without having to just go for more speed or more reps.
I'm not sure I'd even notice 10# but it's all relative to your bodyweight and fitness. The smaller ones fit a lot better, too, less flopping around.

Only caveat is I hated that I looked like a CoD cosplayer and would wear a shirt over it when running outside.
I dunno just really funny to me to see people purposely add unnecessary weight to themselves for exercise but I guess after years of lugging around 80lbs of gear plus SAPI plates on 10 mile humps my perspective is skewed.
Personally Id avoid adding extra impact to your joints while running or exercising but that's just me.
I also thought Crossfit was hilarious and people took that seriously as well so what do I know

Weighted vests if dont right arent adding much to soft tissue. As example could potentially make your walk a zone 2 cardio activity.

Best non-accessory exercises (better than a 10-lb vest)
Lower Body
• Walking lunges
• Reverse lunges
• Split squats
• Step-backs
• Squat holds
• Stair climbs
⸻
Conditioning
• Fast walking (intentional pace)
• Hill walking
• Stair repeats
• Jog/walk intervals
• Marching (high knee, controlled)
⸻
Full-Body / Core
• Bear crawls
• Crab walks
• Mountain climbers
• Inchworms
• Plank walks
⸻
Joint Health / Longevity
• Deep squats (controlled)
• Hip CARs
• Ankle mobility flows
• Crawling patterns
• Controlled get-ups (bodyweight)
⸻
Why these often beat a weighted vest
A vest:
• Adds load
• Doesn't challenge coordination
• Doesn't fix asymmetries
• Doesn't improve joint control
These movements:
• Load patterns, not just weight
• Expose weaknesses fast
• Improve carryover to daily life
