The cheapest the Powercolor Red Devil 9070 XT has ever been, this is not an entry level model but a flagship model and is one of the best 9070 XTs out there.

Given the future projections of the market for PC parts, is this a worthwhile upgrade over a RTX 3080 FE?
Online comparisons seems to say it's slightly better, but wonder what real world results are. Primarily play 1440p BF6 right now.

i wouldnt bother upgrading. You very likely have great results with what you have. I have this card. I like it a lot but it wouldnt be worth the upgrade for me based on what you have.

My rule of thumb is as long I can play games on highest setting without stutter or lagging, I'm keeping the GPU. I'm not into hardcore unrealistic FPS gimmic and won't compare my GPU with new released GPU based on Youtuber. Selling used GPU is not worth the headache nor money difference.
Wattage bill will not be an issue if you're playing on highest setting either. You will only notice up to $10 difference monthly.

To determine what your real world results would be, you would need to find head to head benchmark comparisons for all the games you play specifically.

Depending on what productivity and gaming programs you use, it could be possible that it's not worth losing CUDA functionality to move to a non-Nvidia card

Thanks all - sounds like I should hold off for another generation. I do have stuttering, but I don't think it's a performance issue but something wrong with my PC.

I got the ASRock Challenger, has occasional severe coil whine under heavy load.

Anyone have experience with Newegg return for coil whine? Worth trying to exchange for this card?

I mean, even my 5080 can't play recent games on the highest settings. That kind doesn't make sense. A GPU that can play Doom: Dark Ages on the highest settings doesn't even exist.

I snagged this same card when it dropped to $650 a couple of months ago. Upgraded from an RTX 2060 to this, and let me tell you, this card is fantastic. Handles everything you throw at it without flinching. If you're building a new PC now (I know... RAM being what it is...), this is an amazing choice and will set you up for a long time.

Given the ram/vram/memory situation, AMD and Nvidia shifing production to AI customers, you might be waiting a long time.....

If you are happy with the card you have, I am not sure there is a reason to upgrade.

That being said, this would be a huge upgrade. Basically double the performance plus more than double RT performance and FSR4.
