It's too small to read comics and manga. So the color is pretty useless. Manga needs 8" and comics 10" is ideal.

It's worse than Kindle Paperwhite due to the added color filter array layer.

How is the screen reading black and white books?
The item description makes a few excuses on how it's optimized for color content.

It has the same black and white display as a regular Kindle it's just underneath the layer

If you need ebooks in color in a bigger screen, you can try to use Kindle app in Fire HD tablet or most Android tablet. I own most generations of Kindle Paperwhite and Oasis. But I have zero desire to buy color Kindle. On an android tablet, I install Moon Reader for epub reading in color and Kindle app for magazines reading in color.

I am one who finds reading on LCD screen for longer hours is just impossible due to eye fatigue. not to mention the distractions like notifications and other apps. LCD screens are not equivalent to e-ink screens

I have both the b&w and the color Paperwhite from previous slick deals, as well as a Kobo Clara Colour.

The Kobo and Colorsoft are very similar, but I think the Colorsoft has a slight edge in clarity and contrast. I have small hands and prefer the Kobo form factor, but if you must have color, the Kindle Colorsoft would be my preferred choice.

The B&W Paperwhite is ultra-crisp and just ever so slightly faster than the Colorsoft. The battery lasts much longer as well. It doesn't get as bright as the Colorsoft, the latter which looks like there's a strong backlight to show the colors, especially in dark mode.

The Kindle Colorsoft does *not* have the tap-to-flip feature that the Signature Paperwhite has, if that matters.
