At Staples - No Purchase Fee when you buy a $200 Mastercard Gift Card In Store Only (a $7.95 value) - Starts from 12/21/25-12/27/25 - Limit 9 per customer per day

https://www.staples.com/lp/weekly-ad

Note: Staples removed the pictures from their local ad showing the fee waived. The deal is on and In store only.

FAQ's:
- No, you cannot use Staples GC's to purchase these.
- No, these do not count towards your spend requirements for a premier membership.
- No, these do not earn you any Staples rewards.
- No, you cannot use coupons/ rewards to purchase these GC's.
- Yes, you can split payment between multiple cards (if your cashier permits it) YMMV
- The limit of 9 may or may not be enforced depending on your store/ cashier. YMMV
- Why is this a deal? Some members have CC's that earn 5% CB at office supply stores (INK and Amex Simply Cash). Others need to meet minimum CC spend.
- What if my store doesn't accept payment with a CC? Your store likely has had issues with fraud and it is managers discretion on what payment they will accept.
- Other chase cards may have special offers for Staples ($ limited). Check your chase account under chase offers.

I've found these tough to get rid of. Problems with a lot of online purchase attempts, just tried for passport and it failed. Can't use in person and very easy to lose track of. I've had success using for insurance payments. Not worth the trouble unless you're manufacturing spending, even if you get 5% cashback you'll spend more than $10 in aggravation getting rid of them.

Why can't you use them in person?

you can use them at most places in person except for some kiosks that don't let you swipe. Also for purchasea > $200, some places don't let you use multiple cards.

Mastercard cannot be used at Costco

Edit: Nevermind, that's just for credit cards, not debit cards. Mastercard debit cards work at Costco

Of course you can use them in person and they're just as easy to lose track of as cash or anything else I guess. Getting rid of is as simple as using them at the grocery store.
