I've had every model since the 3, and I'm officially done with Samsung. Both Samsung and Google are increasingly walling their ecosystems. The ECG and weather features on Galaxy Watch only work with Samsung phones. And the Google Pixel Weather app now only works on their watches. If you're going to be locked into an ecosystem, choose one that works seamlessly. As much as I hate to say it, it's time to switch to Apple. After 17 loyal years to Android, the time has come for me. So sad that Android has succumbed to the profit-over-freedom model.

Uh, you are aware that Apple's walled garden is even more restrictive than Android's, right?

Based on trajectory, it'll be just as restrictive soon for most users who don't root. Market share is based on those users. Yes, I could probably figure that stuff out, but anyone who uses both Android and iOS knows that the iOS version of apps is always better. Talk to developers and you'll see that the majority use iOS, and they're the ones who can easily manipulate technology. That should tell you something about the Android ecosystem.

I've had various Samsung Galaxy phones and Galaxy watches the past 5+ years, and each gen it seems like Samsung is trying to mimic Apple more and more. At this point may as well buy apple products.
