Community Reviews
Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard whey in Vanilla Ice Cream is being discussed as a large tub that mixes well and works especially well in coffee, smoothies, or dessert-style recipes. The flavor is polarizing, with some finding it bland or too thick for smoothies, while others prefer mixing it with chocolate, peanut butter, or Greek yogurt to improve the taste. Price checks put the deal around the low 80s with Subscribe and Save, though Costco alternatives and subscription discounts can undercut it. A practical pick if you want bulk whey and plan to blend it into other flavors.
Common Questions (5)
Costco alternatives mentioned in the thread include 5.5 lb for $49-$55 and 2 x 5 lb vanilla bags for a couple dollars less than this Amazon deal. The Amazon price also lands around $83.89-$85 with Subscribe & Save for some buyers.
Extreme Milk Chocolate is described as sweeter and more like chocolate milk, while Double Rich is much blander and more cocoa-forward. Some prefer Double Rich for smoothies because it is less sweet, but others find it weak or watery.
It mixes well into Greek yogurt pudding, especially with cocoa, cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice, fruit, or sugar-free pudding mix. It is also used with casein to make a chocolate or chocolate-peanut-butter pudding-style shake.
The vanilla ice cream flavor is described as very mild, even "literally nothing" to some, while others find it too thick for smoothies. It can work better mixed into coffee, milk, or blended recipes than as a plain water shake.
Yes. Canceling the subscription immediately does not readjust the price, and a subscription price difference can be requested afterward through Customer Service if needed.

Where is the Double Rich Chocolate deal....
Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank
One thing I will say, is that the Kirkland brand protein powder tastes better than ON. At least the chocolate one.
Unfortunately, the Kirkland protein powder has less protein per gram compared to ON (usually not that big of a deal, if ON isn't on sale).
However i do not know if I want 10 pounds of vanilla flavor..

let's do the math. Kirkland is $50 for 70 scoops. Each scoop is 25g. So 35g of protein per $1

All I said is Kirkland protein powder tastes better, and is typically a better deal if ON wasn't on sale at Costco (or even here).
The person I was responding to said the ON deal at Costco is a better deal, which I agreed with.
