Coming entirely from my experience:

I worked at Papa Murphy's before and got to use a giant version of what was basically a mixer like this for making pizza dough. It did not have a tilt head like this product but it never broke or had issues due to less moving parts.

Very recently, I bought this exact KitchenAid mixer for slightly less than this deal at WalMart. I thought I scored big, it was brand new but when I used it I was left severely disappointed.

I made a simple cookie dough batch using it and the head continuously bumped up and down even when it was fully latched. The bowl also "turns" in to get locked into place and is less secure. A proper mixer has a lever to raise and lower the bowl into place, and slots to lock the bowl in rather than the odd turning method like this model.

I ended up returning it because I saw the exact type I was looking for at Costco, also a KitchenAid brand but bigger and with the restaurant quality build that should be standard. It has zero issues unlike this one. I would not recommend this deal.

Thanks. Picked up this same model. Appreciate the warning about the one in the post.

Super glad I could help you out! I thought for a semi-big purchase this would be really helpful to know. Still making cookie dough here and am plenty happy with mine

if you are going to buy one today the new models of that mixer are having issues with a speed control board failing out of the box new. A better and cheaper option is refurbished from the factory. You get a hand tested unit, and the same warranty for much cheaper.

that one is 280 and comes with an extra accessory compared to the "new" one with only 1 beater. This one has the bowl scrape version and the regular along with the dough hook, wisk and pouring shield.
