This Legion Pro 7i is a high end 16 inch OLED gaming laptop that stands out most for its RTX 5090, 24GB of VRAM, and strong performance for AI or other memory heavy work. The 240Hz 2560x1600 panel, Ultra 9 275HX, 64GB of RAM, and 2TB SSD make it a very loaded configuration. The main caveats are that it is not a touch screen, and the laptop 5090 is widely framed as closer to a power limited 5080 or 5070 Ti than a true desktop 5090. The $3000 price also draws comparisons to cheaper recent 5080 deals and earlier Lenovo pricing, so the value depends on how much the extra VRAM matters.
Common Questions (4)
For gaming, the 5080 and 5090 laptop GPUs are described as fairly close, with the 5090 mainly making sense for AI or other VRAM-heavy workloads. The 5090 model does add 24GB of VRAM, while the 5080 version is repeatedly cited as the better value when it is available.
Its performance is described as roughly in the range of a desktop RTX 5070 Ti Super or a desktop RTX 5080 in some specs, but it is power-limited to around 180W. That means it can deliver strong laptop performance without the heat and noise of a full desktop-class GPU.
$3000 is described as the lowest Micro Center price seen by some, but also as overpriced compared with prior pricing. Similar configurations were reportedly around $2900 at Micro Center and even lower from Lenovo for a short Black Friday window.
No, this Legion Pro 7i configuration is not a touchscreen. That matters if touch input is a must-have, since the panel is a 16" 2560x1600 240Hz OLED focused on gaming rather than tablet-style use.

Also, FWIW, the 5080 version is now out of stock in my area and unavailable for shipping.

I do believe this is the lowest price from MC I've seen though. But yes it was cheaper from Lenovo for a few hours on Black Friday.
