This Legion Pro 7i is a high end 16 inch OLED gaming laptop that stands out most for its RTX 5090, 24GB of VRAM, and strong performance for AI or other memory heavy work. The 240Hz 2560x1600 panel, Ultra 9 275HX, 64GB of RAM, and 2TB SSD make it a very loaded configuration. The main caveats are that it is not a touch screen, and the laptop 5090 is widely framed as closer to a power limited 5080 or 5070 Ti than a true desktop 5090. The $3000 price also draws comparisons to cheaper recent 5080 deals and earlier Lenovo pricing, so the value depends on how much the extra VRAM matters.
The RTX 5090 laptop configuration can deliver strong gaming frame rates on ultra settings, especially when CPU and GPU are undervolted.
The 5090 laptop variant includes 24GB of VRAM, which can help for VRAM-intensive workloads compared with some lower-tier laptop GPUs.
The deal can be competitive versus other 5090 laptop offers, with at least one comparison calling it the best 5090 laptop deal found.
The laptop GPU performance is described as comparable to a 5070 Ti Super desktop GPU, which may help set expectations for gaming performance.
The RTX 5090 laptop GPU is described as power limited around 180W, which can reduce frame rates and increase noise compared with higher-power desktop-class expectations.
The laptop is not a touch-screen, which can be a dealbreaker for shoppers who want touch input.
The RTX 5090 laptop GPU naming can mislead buyers into expecting a true desktop 5090 experience, with comments suggesting it behaves more like a 5070 Ti.
The $3,000 price is criticized as overpriced because it was reportedly lower around $2,900 at Micro Center and even lower directly from Lenovo at times.

Also, FWIW, the 5080 version is now out of stock in my area and unavailable for shipping.

I do believe this is the lowest price from MC I've seen though. But yes it was cheaper from Lenovo for a few hours on Black Friday.
