You do realize ALL of these Ultrabooks using Ryzen AI 300 and Intel Ultra Series 2 or newer are now SoC's, so the RAM is a part of the chip. This allows it to achieve higher than the 5600Mhz SO-DIMMs max out at, so they're typically around 8300Mhz or so. Also, did you SEE RAM pricing?! It will NOT get better in 2026, so if you're remotely on the fence or due an upgrade because of Windows 10 expiring, this is a fantastic deal and most should go for it if it's non gaming needs.

Not correct. Intel Lunar Lake is how you described it, but not AMD Krackan Point or Strix Point. Lenovo ThinkPad P14s has 2 SoDIMM slots with this same CPU.
Industry norm (for this type of laptop). We are talking about a $500 touch screen 2-in-1 not a $2000 mobile workstation. Sorry I didn't make a 3 page statement excluding every possible exception.

But feel free to find a comparable machine at a comparable price point with unsoldered RAM.

Fun fact, anytime shows up with an "Um, Actually" it is never helpful and even less often relevant...

Im not who you were responding to but Lenovo has a long history of really poor hinge durability. If you start type "Has Lenovo..." in google it autofills with "fixed the hinge issue?". Many forums over a decade online discussing it. Basically what would happen is normal use would cause the plastic housing around the hinges to break. I would hope they fixed it by now and I do believe you when you say you haven't seen issues. But it's ingrained in a lot of our minds including mine. I've had other build quality issues with Lenovo as well that I haven't on others.
LOL....google autofill is being cited as a source.

LMAO2

*No point trying to debate such a shallow thought process, clearly they are looking for anything that supports the gut feeling they had before their holy quest seeking any and all forms of confirmation bias the internet could offer....

I'd if it's 1TB SSD
According to Lenovo specs and Notebookcheck review, it's a 2242 slot. So be aware of that if you're planning to swap in a bigger SSD.

Win10 expired, but you can extend security updates until October 2026.

I buy tons of lenovos for my company, including this exact model, and have not had a single issue related to build quality or physical defects. I'd love to see your source for what you're claiming.
I had a Thinkpad Carbon and a personal Thinkbook 2-in-1.
The worst thing Lenovo has are their docks. Biggest POS.
My work Thinkpad kept on (1) beeping that USB device was attached; and (2) one monitor (of dual setup) turning off and then back on ("flickering" , but slowly). One was plugged into the HDMI port, so it was not the HDMI > DP adapter. I have no issues with cheap aftermarket USB-C hubs for my Thinkbook. Granted, it could have been all the emails that I had open bogging down the memory and causing the "flickering".

Dells have horrible entry-level monitors. My work sent me 2 that were basically unusable due to the fuzzy resolution. I pulled out 2 15-year old Dell monitors (probably entry-level in 2010), and they worked great.

Dell blew up the Inspiron name at the beginning of 2025.
And according to reports, their attempt to copy Macs has made their laptops horrible. Poor design. Minimal ports.

The AMD 7 350 with 1 TB SSD is $180 more- is it worth it for the added cores and hard drive?

$680 has better specs than $499 in terms of cores, threads and integrated graphics

I prefer AMD but the OLED screen is the big winner on this. Makes this more premium imo.

But I saved $180 for same OLED screen/rams/battery, but less SSD (512 is plenty) and 6 core/12 treads instead of 8 cores/16-thread. This is for my wife's general use and she never play games.
