I switched our Alexas to use Canadian English and it turns off the ads. I wonder if you can do the same with the tvs…

Solid TV for the price. I got one during the last BF. Pretty happy with it.

Never been a fan of the Amazon ecosystem but seems like a solid price. TCL is definitely good mid-tier nowadays.

If you want to bypass the Amazon advertisements and privacy concerns, use a Roku or Apple TV and keep the TV offline.

So keep it offline and hook up a media player. If you're really concerned, best move is to buy a mini PC and install Linux on it.

I mean not that I disagree with you but I am not sure what you are going to do. Literally everyone is an offender and you are being victimized by at least some company as soon as you wake up out of bed in the morning. You have a cell phone don't you?

FYI, this TV doesn't support HDR10 + format. Product page on TCL website mentions the supported formats as HDR10 and Dolby Vision. Its a dealbreaker for some consumers, not all. Most content on Prime Video are streamed in HDR10+ format. This TV would default to standard HDR10 while playing hdr10+ content, which still offers great picture however it loses the picture enhancements that hdr10+ provides. If you need that feature, TCL Q and QM series offers hdr10+

given that TV and movie content is at 24 or 30 FPS. it will always be marketing buzzword except for gaming.
