That has peat and vermiculite. Not good or bad, just different from what's in this deal. In the UK there's a big deal about (not) using peat in potting mixtures. Not sure why.

I bought some soil from them in a deal last year. I don't think it had much nutrients in it and my seedlings were stunted.

Peat, in the traditional method, is not renewable on the scale it was being used. So they recommend avoiding peat if there are other options available.

I always do my first watering with seed starting with watered down fertilizer. Alot of the kits come with a packet for that exact reason.

Full strength fertilizer will burn the roots of seedlings. So you dilute it to not cause problems

I usually buy coco coir in bulk to save money, but if I were going to buy the little seed starting bricks, I'd go with the Gro-Med Coco Coir Brick 6 Pack (1.4 lb Each) for $20 instead of this deal, because each brick makes approximately 10qt & it includes the much needed starter fertilizer. I hate how quickly seedlings in straight coco coir need to be fed or up potted before they start showing signs of nutrient deficiency compared to ones sown in peat moss.
