Not a deal at all. It's been cheaper than this multiple times and it's been this price for weeks now.

I don't keep up with hardware much, so I'm curious why this isn't much of a deal compared to other laptop deals you've posted (Thanks for sharing, btw - I've seen a lot of your posts while hunting).
It seemed like a nice deal to me, similar to this deal you shared - https://slickdeals.net/f/19002790
I recognize this one has a 5060 instead of a 5070, but it has 32gb ram and 1tb ssd instead -- and from what I had been reading, 16gb ram would likely throttle the performance of the 5070, or am I missing something?

I won't comment on the deal much but I agree with Dr. W and will answer your questions.

5070 won't be throttled by 16 GBs of ram anymore than a 5060 would. In fact we have this exact laptop for one of my employees, upped it to 32 GBs no benchmark change. Ram isn't currently limiting performance (Vram does but that won't care about RAM).

This computer has 2 slots for SSDs, so that upgrade is easy/cheap. The ram is expensive to upgrade though unfortunately. That being said it's not JUST 5070 vs 5060, it's also Intel 255hx vs 350 Ryzen. The 350 is a better processor imo. They have similar single core becnhmarks, the Ryzen is worse on multicore BUT the Ryzen uses a LOT less energy which leaves more room for the GPU to cool/not throttle AND means your battery life will be good compared to the Intel. Also if it matters the Ryzen is Copilot ready as it ahs a dedicated NPU. The Ryzen iGPU is also a lot better than the Intel one.

Ryzen variants are far better IMO. Intel CPUs are far less efficient (except for Lunar Lake, but those aren't for gaming laptops).

Thanks for sharing! It was helpful to learn about why the Ryzen variant would be better.
I ended up canceling my order on the intel variant with the 5060 and picking up a 5070 with a Ryzen and upgraded to 32gb ram in hopes it will have longer longevity.

Awesome, glad to help. Funny enough I ordered that exact laptop a few days ago for my wife and I, the 5070 with the Ryzen 350 and 32GBs of ram. The ram upgrade is cheap still, no idea how long they will let that remain. $60 to add 16 GBs of ram that would cost almost 200 on the secondary market currently.
