Def go with the 10W rechargeable model. For photography (rocks/insects), you really need that black filter lens it comes with. It blocks out the visible purple light so your photos don't look washed out. The mini AA model is okay for casual checking, but it's too weak and 'noisy' (too much purple spill) for decent photos.

Probably something like glogerm that is used to teach importance of proper hand washing. They apply it to your hands and let you wash the way you normally do, and then use UV light to show why it doesn't wash out all the germs.
