The Lenovo Legion 5 stands out as a strong all around gaming laptop with a bright 15.1 inch WQXGA OLED screen, solid Ryzen 7 260 and RTX 5060 performance, and easy upgradeability. The memory is reported as 16GB in one stick with no soldered RAM, and the chassis also has two SSD slots. The compact 15.1 inch size keeps it close to older 14 inch laptops, while the 80Wh battery and 4.4 pound weight make it reasonably portable. Main drawbacks are the Mediatek Wi Fi 7 card and a USB C charging wake issue. A capable pick if you want a portable gaming machine with room to grow.
Buyers who plan to upgrade RAM and storage because community members report the RAM isn't soldered (16GB in one stick) and there are open DIMM and SSD slots (e.g., 1 open DIMM and 2 SSD slots).
PC gamers who want a "goldilocks" all-around gaming laptop because commenters say it's a top gaming pick for the year and that the GPU/CPU are "fine for just gaming."
People who care about a high-quality OLED display for gaming and media because commenters call the screen "beautiful," and the deal listing highlights a 15.1" WQXGA OLED with high brightness and 165Hz.
Shoppers who want a more portable 15.1" laptop without going back to 14" because a commenter notes the 15.1 screen size puts it close in size to older 14" laptops while still being a good all-rounder.
Buyers who get confused by similarly named Legion 5 variants because commenters point out there are confusing differences between Legion 5 models (like a 15.3" non‑OLED variant with a bigger chassis and different weight), so it's easy to mix up configurations.
Buyers who rely on flawless sleep/USB-C charging behavior because one owner says USB-C charging doesn't resume on wake from sleep and they have to reboot or unplug/replug to get it working again.
People who want consistently reliable Wi‑Fi 7 out of the box because an owner reports the included Mediatek Wi‑Fi 7 (MT7925) quality is "junk" and they ordered an AX210 to fix it.

Yeah it's not just you. IDK of any with soldered ram, but the fact that there is a "Legion 5" with a 15.3" non OLED screen with otherwise identical specs... except the chassis is also bigger and half a lb heavier? IDK just super weird.
Edit: is this a low wattage gpu for compact laptop?
