It would not consistently turn on for some reason, after a week, saw the label said Made in Mexico, and subsequently returned it.
I also noticed it had issues with voice syncing, which I've never seen on a live broadcast, unless its the Spectrum set top box issue.
Instead of trying another Sony, I suggested we get Toshiba, as I already have a Toshiba 75 for 5 years now.
I explained the drawbacks of OLED, such as burn in, lifetime and energy demand.
Amazingly, the brightness of Toshiba (Hisense) is blinding, compared to the OLED, and the FireTV is way more advanced than Google TV OS that is on the Sony.
After showing them Alexa, they got a $18 Fire Stick for their old Samsung 1080.
Even the reviews on the Sony is mixed.
Wait until I show them how you can connect USB flash to the Toshiba and have DVR rew/ff the live program in progress. I use this all the time. Start the NFL game, then go shower, get my food/drink, and then choose 'watch from beginning' and then it goes back 90 minutes to the beg of the game and i can skip thru downs, commercials, halftime etc.
So the 3h game turns out only to waste 1h of my life instead. Winner.
During covid, i even had zoom installed and my logitech webcam and was doing zoom meetings in 4k 75 inches.
I don't think they will need that feature but running android and being able to sideload and download custom apps is a true win for a geek.
Prior to this Toshiba, I was a big LG WebOS fan (RIP Palm), but too many restrictions, and apps discontinued, missing, unavailable.
I heard you can install modded hacks to the LG, but TMW and why bother when there's this option.

Why I decided to replace my LG when it was still working.
I install a lot of TVs for others, and all the major players, Sony Samsung LG TCL Vizio etc. don't.
Because their TV OS' don't have this feature
Tizen
WebOS
Google TV
Roku
etc.
Any Fire TV should be able to I assume,
Toshiba
Hisense
Insignia
Amazon
How old are you?
Gamer?
Can you even put together Lego?
I install and repair.
Can you wield a soldering iron? Didn't think so.
Have you ever owned anything other than Sony fanboy? Didn't think so.
iphone nut? Apple fanboy? thought so.
The one thing you do seem to know. Is that Bravia is good at transferring your money to them.
Sony Mexico (Hon Hai) thanks you.

Aug 21, 2024 — Sony Bravia XR-55A90J TV. Purchased in US. TV was made in Mexico March 2022. TV has failed, in less than 2 years!
Sony's television division experienced significant financial difficulties, operating "in the red" (at a loss) for ten consecutive years
Sony's TV Business Turnaround
Period of Losses: Sony's TV unit lost money every year for ten straight fiscal years, from the early 2000s until 2013.
Restructuring Efforts: To stem these massive losses, the company undertook significant restructuring measures:
It sold its stake in an LCD panel manufacturing joint venture with Samsung.
It outsourced much of its manufacturing, including the sale of its North American factory in Tijuana, Mexico, to Hon Hai Precision Industry (Foxconn).
It cut 5,000 jobs and sold its personal computer business (VAIO) in 2014.
Do you know that there is only one factory on the planet that makes OLED panels?
LG
not Sony
So when you buy a Sony, Samsung, etc. You're actually just buying a rebranded, overpriced LG OLED. For the privilege of seeing SONY when you sit down to make yourself happy why you spent 20 bills instead of just 10. LOL.

You convinced them to return an $1,800 Sony OLED—the pinnacle of picture quality—for a $550 budget Toshiba (which is just a rebadged Hisense in a trench coat) because the Sony was 'Made in Mexico'? Wait until you find out where the tacos come from. Returning a top-tier TV because of its assembly location only to buy a bargain-bin panel is like trading in a Ferrari because the floor mats were dusty, then buying a 1998 Honda Civic because 'the headlights are brighter.'
Speaking of which, that 'blinding brightness' you love isn't quality; it's uncontrolled backlight bleed. You didn't give them a better picture; you gave them a 75-inch flashlight that washes out every dark scene. You talked them out of perfect OLED blacks and infinite contrast because of 'energy demand'? That's like talking someone out of dating a supermodel because 'she might order an expensive appetizer.'
And claiming FireTV is 'way more advanced' than Google TV is the funniest joke I've heard all year. You just locked that poor family into an operating system that is 90% ads for Amazon Prime and 10% system lag.
'Winner'? No. You saved them money, sure, but you also doomed them to 5 years of motion blur, gray blacks, and an interface that fights them every step of the way. And the fact that you were doing Zoom meetings on a 75-inch screen just confirms you're a masochist—nobody needs to see their coworker's nose hairs in 4K.
I hope you blocked their number, because the second they see a real OLED TV at a friend's house, they are coming for you."
