I guess we could argue the Zelda lineup didn't Sam thing, but they released amiibo do a game people played the hell out of. The pricing for those was insane as well.
I am sure we see Kirby and Metroid follow suite unless they just made way less of them. Two set of the Kirby eclipses the cost of the damn game.
